The Playstation Network (PSN) is pushing its fourth week of downtime since an intrusion by hackers that compromised user details last month and prompted Sony to bring down the PSN. Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) also went down last week with no expected timeframe of when services might be restored after it was discovered that its systems had also been compromised.

The PSN was supposed to begin phased restoration last week, but following the discovery of the compromised SOE servers and reports of a third rumored attack, restoration was delayed and it appears that it will be at least a few more days at the minimum before PSN services are restored.

I know you all want to know exactly when the services will be restored. At this time, I can’t give you an exact date, as it will likely be at least a few more days. We’re terribly sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work through this process.
