Russia is once again amassing an army, but this time in World of Tanks. Wargaming.net recently announced that it has hit a new milestone with more than 2,000,000 registered users for the Russian server alone. Europe and North America are following behind with nearly 1,000,000. The massive influx of players has far exceeded the original launch estimates of about 600,000 worldwide.

World of Tanks Reaches A New Milestone

2,000,000 Confirmed Registrations

London, UK and San Francisco, Ca. (24th May, 2011) — Wargaming.net is proud to announce that the number of registrations on the Russian server of their highly acclaimed World of Tanks MMO has topped 2,000,000.

The success in Russia is being followed by the European and North American servers, where the numbers are closing in on 1,000,000 registrations after the game’s release on April 12.

“At the very beginning of development for World of Tanks, we were assuming that the maximum number would be around 600,000 players worldwide. Now, we have 2 million registrations in Russia alone, not to mention the Western audience and its immense growth,” said Wargaming.net CEO Victor Kislyi. “With the tremendous number we’ve reached in Russia as well as the dynamics of community growth in Europe and North America, we are looking forward to the many more milestones to come.”
