The original PlanetSide was a game that in many ways was ahead of its time. While that was also part of the reason that the game remained fairly niche, anyone that joined the war for Auraxis, whether they stayed or not, have fun stories from their time fighting the good fight in PlanetSide. This week the MMOFPS celebrates its 10th anniversary and SOE is kicking things off right by giving its loyal PlanetSide vets a free six months of subscription to mark the occasion. So if youre a current or former vet of PlanetSide, suit up and get back into the fight for Auraxis one more time. Additional details are available via the PlanetSide 2 forums.
As for some extra good news, the free time may also be somewhat permanent in the future. SOE boss John Smedley took to Twitter yesterday to chat with fans about the free game time and explained that it will give SOE more time to make the game free-to-play.
This also gives us more time to make it f2p. So enjoy starting tmw late morning. And yes I'm sure we will miss flag some people.
