If you’re curious to know how well PlanetSide 2 has been doing since its official launch on November 20th, the answer is quite well. SOE boss John Smedley took some time to chat with Games Industry International about the shooter’s success. Without giving away any solid numbers, Smedley stated that PlanetSide 2 is “doing an order of magnitude greater revenue daily than any of our other titles

Smedley also touched on the lackluster success of some of SOE’s endeavors into Facebook gaming with titles such as PoxNora and Dungeon Overlord, and from all indications, they’re unlikely to return to the social gaming scene anytime soon.

“We discovered that we really weren't interested in doing that as a company, and as a result, the games just didn't come out to the quality level that we were happy with," Smedley explained. "So we decided that we didn't want to be in that space.”

Smedley ended the interview with some optimism about MMOs and the next generation of consoles, lamenting the success of DC Universe Online on the PlayStation 3 but also the difficulty in creating such games for the current console generation.
