So you've all been asking for it for a while. I've always wanted to do it. However, something has always come up to stop its implementation. Wait no longer! I am working on implementing a PvP GearScore into the add-on right now. I expect to have it enabled on the website as well, however it will take time for our service to begin displaying accurate PvP Scores. (Basically, we have to update your character from the WoW Armory and recalculate its scores.)

This is how I imagine I'll do this.

  • Any item without resilience will be marked at 75% quality for PvP GearScore. This is reverse of how items with resilience are given only 75% quality to PvE GearScore.
  • Weapons however, will not be given a penalty of they are not PvP Weapons. Many players use PvE Weapons until they reach high levels of Arena ratings. To reward those who achieve that level of PvP play, I will mark PvP Weapons at 125% quality for PvP GearScore.
  • Trinkets will also not be counted negatively for PvP Use. Talking about which trinket is best for PvP Is sure to cause a Fussk™-storm of arguing.

You have to realize, that PvP GearScore won't have as much value as PvE GearScore. Sometimes less resilience is better depending on your team makeup, class, spec, role, and arena bracket. PvP GearScore will only really reflect how PvP-geared a player is, and not how well they play PvP. If you really want to get a picture of someone's PvP Prowless, you should look at PvP Score, PvP GearScore, and click the PvP Tab in PlayerScore to get a break down of their success and rankings.

I obviously plan to create an option that will allow you to see both scores when you mouse over a player.

If you guys have any ideas on how to implement this better, or want to point out anything that I missed or failed to mention here, please do so in the commenting section below or on our forums. We'll be having anonymous commenting opening up soon. I read all comments and forum posts, and your feedback is extremely valuable.
