RIFT's 2.2 Update Coming February 27th

Posted Fri, Feb 22, 2013 by Martuk

It’s hard to believe that it’s almost been two years since the first RIFT officially opened over Telara. I guess time flies when you’re saving the world from planar denizens hell-bent on devouring all living life on the planet. But Trion’s little baby and flagship MMORPG turns 2 next month, and they’ve got plans to celebrate.

RIFT’s 2.2: Carnival of the Ascended update is scheduled to hit to live servers on Wednesday, February 27th and is part of the second anniversary celebration. 2.2 will see the return of the Carnival of the Ascended event with two new games, new prizes, a dragon parade, and more. Additionally, the update will also add the new Steppes of Infinity zone event, new 2nd Tier PvP Planar Attunement, and the Tier 3 regular Planar Attunement.

As part of the anniversary celebration, Trion is inviting former subscribers to return to RIFT for free from March 21st through March 25th. Current subscribers will also receive an anniversary bonus event from March 21st through April 4th that will provide a 20% increase to gains in Guild XP, Prestige, Favor, Planarite, dungeon currency, zone event currency, and normal kill XP and Planar Attunement.
