Next week is going to be a busy week for the gaming industry. With E3 2013 set to get underway on Tuesday, Trion will be on-hand to show off their latest game content across their game lineup. But a trip to E3 isn’t all that Trion has set for next week. RIFT’s biggest change since its March 2011 launch is also making its way to live servers with Update 2.3: Empyreal Assault.

While several members of the Trion dev team make their way down to Los Angeles for the convention, 2.3 will roll out to live servers and convert RIFT to its new free-to-play model. Along with the free-to-play conversion, RIFT will also receive a hefty dose of new content in the form of new open-world raid bosses, the new area of Dendrome, the Queen’s Gambit Chronicle, and more. RIFT’s 2.3: Empyreal Assault update is scheduled to launch on Wednesday, June 12th, 2013.
