If you’ve been anxiously awaiting the release date for Star Wars: The Old Republic’s (SWTOR) first expansion, that wait is now over. BioWare today announced that the Rise of the Hutt Cartel has officially been dated for release and will be headed your way on April 14th, 2013.

The Rise of the Hutt Cartel expansion will add new features and content to SWTOR such as the planet Makeb, new epic storyline missions, a level cap increase to 55, new items, gear, and more. Additionally, at the same time, Game Update 2.0: Scum and Villainy will also go live with new Legacy Achievements, a new level 55 Operation, upgraded level 55 Hard Mode Flashpoints & Operations, and a number of class combat changes.

Players that opt to pre-order the expansion prior to April 13th will also receive three exclusive in-game rewards: the “Scourge of the Hutts” title, a Makrin Seedling mini-pet, and the Dr. Oggurobb Hutt Holostatue.

The Rise of the Hutt Cartel expansion is available to subscribers for $9.99 and $19.99 to free players. SWTOR players that pre-ordered prior to January 7th, 2013 will be able to start playing the expansion five days early.
