If you play Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR) and have no plans to hit the beach this summer, BioWare wants you to keep playing and they’re adding plenty of summer events and content to keep you away from the outside world. The first batch of news on the calendar are more Double XP Weekends, the first of which starts Friday, June 21st. Two more events are planned to take place on the weekends of June 28th and July 4th.

But what’s XP without a little bit of new content? You can expect to see the first of that on July 9th with the launch of Nightmare Mode for Scum and Villainy in Update 2.2.2 followed by the return of the Relics of the Gree event on July 23rd. On August 6th Update 2.3 goes live and add new Flashpoints, a new Daily Area color improvements, and recurring Bounty Contract Week event.

Along with all of that, the update also teased October’s upcoming 2.4 update, which Senior Producer Bruce Maclean stated is “shaping up to be very big, with tons of new content and big PvP updates

If that sounds appealing, be sure to check out our exclusive preview of the SWTOR summer assets from E3 2013.
