Valve launched free-to-play MMOG support earlier this month on its Steam platform and it seems they liked the taste of what free had to offer. So much so, that the developer has now made its team-based shooter Team Fortress 2 free-to-play. The account types come in two flavors: Free and Premium.

Free accounts are players that download the game and don't make any purchases. These accounts are limited to 50 backpack slots, standard items, limited crafting blueprints and can only receive when trading and receive gifts.

Premium players who choose to make a microtransaction purchase or previously purchased the full game. These accounts include 300 backpack slots that can be expanded to 1,000, can receive rare and cosmetic items, all crafting blueprints, full trading and can send or receive gifts.
