Blizzard shelved this year's BlizzCon event and shifted its focus to its eSports endeavors on the global stage. This weekend marks the beginning of the Battle.net World Championship in Shanghai, China where players from all over the world will gather to find out who is best in tournaments for World of Warcraft and StarCraft II with $500,000 in prizes up for grabs.
The competition will take place from Saturday, November 17th through Sunday, November 18th between the top 32 StarCraft II players and the top 10 World of Warcraft PvP teams. The sold-out event will be broadcast in HD live and for free on the Battle.net World Championship website.
