Ten Ton Hammer Video of the Day

Have an awesome Tomb Raider short.

One of my enjoyable gaming experiences from 2013 came by way of Crystal Dynamics’ reboot of the Tomb Raider series. The updated version included improved graphics and a more Uncharted style of gameplay. But one of its better elements was the story, which delved into how Lara Croft came to be the tomb raiding heroine that we all know and love.

While this little video slipped under my radar near the end of last year, I figure that now is a pretty good time to point it out to those that might have missed it this little gem known as Croft. According to the YouTube page, Croft is a non-profit fan film created by a group of friends with a passion for filmmaking. The short film is inspired by action movies from the 1980s as well as the Tomb Raider game saga. So if you were a fan of last year’s Tomb Raider game, you just might enjoy this little film.

While Croft isn’t heavy on story, it is loaded with a basic premise and a lot of action with some rather well-done action sequences. There’s even a surprise or two.

If you enjoyed Croft, be sure to check out and maybe even subscribe to the CanCinema YouTube channel for future films.
