Ten Ton Hammer Video of the Day

Watch the console industry unfold and evolve.

We capped our “Video of the Day” series off in 2013 with a double video feature of the first two parts of Time’s “History of Video Game Consoles” series, which explored the early beginnings of the console industry and its influences on modern gaming. Today the third part of that series has finally arrived and primarily explores the previous generation of consoles: PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo Wii. The second half of the video examines the newest generation of consoles with the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 before wrapping up.

As with the previous video installments, you’ll find a number of industry personalities all chiming in on the previous generation of consoles and where they see the future of gaming headed as we make the transition to the latest generation of consoles, which is becoming more and more like PC. I’m just saying.

If you missed the first two parts of the series you can get caught up here. As for part three, you can check it out as today’s feature below.

What’s was your favorite consoles of past generations? What are some of your favorite games and where do you think the future of gaming will be like? Let us know in the comments below.
