Video of the Day: The Repopulation Kickstarts a Greenlight
The Repopulation returns to Kickstarter and heads to Steam Greenlight with a shiny new gameplay and features video.
Give this one a Greenlight, Gabe.
Indie developer Above & Beyond Technology first took The Repopulation to Kickstarter back in June 2012 with the goal of raising a modest $25k for the project. By the end of the campaign, backers had pledged more than twice that amount. If you’re not familiar with The Repopulation, it’s a sci-fi sandbox-hybrid MMORPG that aims to offer an experience similar to those of some classic MMORPGs such as Star Wars: Galaxies and Ultima Online along with its own creative twist. The Repopulation hosts a number of features such as a three-faction PvP system, Standard and Hardcore PvP rulesets, city building, player housing, and a load of others with more on the way.
The Repopulation just kicked off two new campaigns, one of which includes a video that serves to today’s feature. The first of those is a return to Kickstarter for a second campaign to provide new fans a chance to become backers for the project and also provide the devs with a way to expand funding to include even more new features. Things are going quite well so far as the first 24 hours have already yielded nearly half of the goal. You can visit the new Kickstarter page to learn more and become a backer for the project.
The second bit of news is that The Repopulation has headed to Steam Greenlight. If you think the game looks promising but don’t want to pony up the cash for Kickstarter, you can head over to Steam and cast a vote for them on Greenlight to have the game added to Valve’s service. I can sense you still want more, so let this video below show you just what The Repopulation has to offer.
What do you think of The Repopulation? It doesn’t look too bad for a game in alpha, but is it a game that you find appealing? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
