We have been picking up juicy tidbits of information here and there as BlizzCon draws closer, but now we have a firm idea of what exactly lies in store for us in those two days packed full of satisfying gaming goodness.
Of course, as we all know, BlizzCon will not just focus on World of Warcraft, but will focus on all of Blizzard's other games as well. This includes Starcraft, Hearthstone, Diablo, and the brand spanking new Heroes of the Storm. Don't get discouraged World of Warcraft lovers! Even with the attention of this gaming lover's extravaganza focused on all of these awesome games, there is still plenty for World of Warcraft fans to look forward to this year.
Check out the list below to see the exciting
events pertaining to World of Warcraft that have been announced via the
BlizzCon's official two-day schedule.
Contests are some of the most popular events at BlizzCon, with the fan favorite probably being the costume contest. BlizzCon 2013 is packed full of contests, some of them directly aimed at World of Warcraft:
The finest Arena teams in the world have been summoned to BlizzCon where they will have the chance to battle it out during the World of Warcraft Arena Global Invitational. Eight Arena teams will be invited from the following three regions; North America and Europe, Korea and Taiwan, and China. Only the best will ultimately make it to BlizzCon where they will compete for international bragging rights and a prize pool worth over $180,000. The competition here is sure to be fierce and not something you will want to miss. The Arena Global Invitational will start on Friday, November 8th at 12:00 PM PST. This contest will run throughout the BlizzCon event.
Scheduled to take place on the main stage at BlizzCon, the World of Warcraft Live Raid will be an event any player who loves to raid won't want to miss. Two high-ranking PvE guilds are pitted against each other in an epic race to complete the brand new Siege of Orgrimmar raid instance. With competitors like these, any small mistake could cost either team the win and with a crowd full of pumped up fans, both teams will be faced with a backdrop that is more than a little distracting.
Which two guilds will compete against each other in this mighty battle? Who will take home the win? Be sure to watch to find out! The Live Raid will take place on Saturday, November 9th on the Main Stage from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM PST.
Panels take a small group of developers and some fans and put them together to get us into the nitty gritty of a game. BlizzCon 2013 is hosting a ton of panels this year with some pretty exciting ones that are sure to reveal some spectacular details about World of Warcraft:
This is the panel I am most excited for, just by the title. This panel is set to tell us where the game will be heading in the future. What content and features will we see? Will there be new races? Big game updates and changes? All of this and more will likely be answered in this particular panel. So hold your bladder, skip the snacks, and take that picture later, because this is one World of Warcraft panel you won't want to miss. The future of Azeroth depends on it. This panel is scheduled to take place on Friday, Novemeber 8th on the Main Stage from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM PST.
The World of Warcraft: The Adventure Continues may sound a bit like the previous panel, but it will take us in a whole other direction. This panel will give us an in-dept look at the setting and lore behind World of Warcraft. Want to know why this character did this or that or where the Pandarian fit into the story? This is the place to find out. Also, this could be where it is revealed where the developers plan to take the storyline in (dare we say it) future expansions! This panel is set to take place on Friday, November 8th on the Panel Stage from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM PST.
Take a look into the art of World of Warcraft with the people who know it best; the World of Warcraft art team. Here fans will get a loot at the detailed process behind creating the crazy, beautiful, and sometimes strange art found inside the game. This includes environments, enemies, and other art that makes Azeroth the world we know and hold so dear. This panel is set to take place on Friday, November 8th on the panel stage from 3:45 PM – 4:45 PM PST.
Are you a fan of the fantastical music behind World of Warcraft? Do the often haunting melodies touch your soul? Then this panel will be right up your alley. Here the music, sound effects, and voice acting of World of Warcraft will be revealed in detail. As a two for one deal, Hearthstone will also be covered during this panel. Still not exciting enough? This panel premises some, as of yet, unrevealed special musical guests and sound designers that you won't want to miss! This panel is scheduled to take place on Saturday, Novemeber 9th on the Panel Stage from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM PST.
Looking for some insight into World of Warcraft gameplay? Want to know why a particular quest was designed the way it was? This is the panel where all those questions and more can be answered. The WoW team gathers to give us a glimpse into a wide array of game content that goes from raids, dungeons, quests, and any other gameplay feature you can come up with. This panel is set to take place on Saturday, November 9th on the Main Stage from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM PST.
On again, off again about sums up the World of Warcraft movie thus far. However, it seems things are finally in full swing with no stalling in sight. During this panel we will get our first look at the process behind the creation of the World of Warcraft movie directly from the mouth of movie director Duncan Jones, along with other key Blizzard developers. How exactly did they manage to transform Azeroth's game world to the big screen? Find out on Saturday, Novemeber 9th on the Main Stage from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM PST.
Something not covered in all the other World of Warcraft panels you want to know? This is is place to ask it or see it answered. Members of the WoW development team will take fan questions about the game's lore, zones, dungeons, raids, and more. Almost nothing is off limits in this particular panel, except for class questions. The questions here could be interesting indeed, making this panel one definitely worth watching. This panel is set to take place on Saturday, November 9th on the Main Stage from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM PST.
That wraps up the World of Warcraft section of
the schedule at BlizzCon. As previously mentioned, there is a ton to look
forward here for WoW fans and I know that I personally will be watching
everything. Will you be joining in? Which WoW related panel or contest are
