Druid Guide

Posted November 13th, 2009 by Xerin

Your complete Druid Guide.

Welcome to the Ten Ton Hammer Druid Guide. Druids are one of World of Warcraft’s most adaptable classes in the game. They’re capable of being healers, casters, tanks, and ninjas melee DPS. They can change forms at will between a cat (melee DPS), bear (tank), tree (talent/healing), bird (flight), cheetah (speed), and walrus (swim speed). They have different abilities that can be used in the different forms and can fit into almost any situation depending on their spec and gear. When you choose a Druid you don’t choose a single class, but instead an entire army of classes that are capable of doing almost anything imaginable within WoW.

Our Ten Ton Hammer Druid Guide is full of information to help Druids, both new and seasoned. It’s full of guides, tactics, walkthroughs, stats, and more. It’s constantly evolving and updated to provide you with the most complete Druid guide out there. We also have an active Druid forum that where you can ask any questions that our guide doesn’t cover.

There are two ways to navigate this guide. The top menu (above) has a list of all of the current and popular articles within the guide while the table of contents below covers everything included in this guide. Confused on where to start? Our Druid Basics guide is an excellent starting point.

Druid Overview

Druid Overview
  • Capable of choosing which role it wants to take in battle. Those roles include healing, DPS, or tanking.
  • Druid forms provide an interesting and interactive way to switch your character’s physical appearance and role in both solo and group play.

Druid Strengths

  • Can choose between healing, DPS, and tanking at will. Powerful in every one of its different forms.
  • Provides some of the better buffs in the game (Mark of the Wild, Moonkin Aura, Leader of the Pack).
  • Highly sought out for groups.
  • Can tank in DPS gear (that is enhanced with tank stats).
  • One of the most unique classes in the game.

Druid Weaknesses

  • At max level, Druids are incapable of switching roles and being good at it unless they have the gear for the other role.
  • Not as good as “pure” classes in some roles and situations. Suffers from the “Hybrid Tax”.
  • Considered by some to be a difficult class to master.
  • Lots of bars and buttons can become hard to manage for some, a action bar mod is almost required.
