Glory Throne Banner

There are only two achievements required from the Throne of Tides instance. They are Old Faithful and Prince of Tides and are both fairly simple as Heroic achievements go.

Old Faithful

Difficulty: Easy

The geysers that Lady Naz’jar summons are the large blue circles that players avoid standing in (hopefully) during the fight. When summoned they appear for a few seconds before sending a powerful water jet up dealing roughly 150,000 damage to everything in the geyser. The caster adds called Tempest Sea Witches are summoned in phase two have just over 200,000 health so are the best choice to try and kill for this achievement.

In phase two follow the normal strategy of CC’ing one or both witches and killing the melee add first (Honor Guard), then one of the witches. Once one witch is done switch to the second witch and drop her health to 50% or less, being careful to not kill her off.

Once below 50% health everyone should group up on the add and wait for a geyser to spawn. As soon as one does the tank needs to hold her on it until the group clears and someone in the group needs to slow, root, or cc her in the geyser. The tank then clears before it erupts. When it does, she will still be in it and be hit for the 150,000 damage and killed, instantly earning you the achievement. The trick here is to make sure the tank gets out of the geyser or has popped a cooldown to prevent dying from it as well.

This is a relatively simple achievement to get mainly because you earn it instantly as soon as a minion dies. Even if you screw up the fight and die without killing Lady Naz’jar, you have already earned the achievement. You can just come back to defeat Lady Naz’jar in the normal way and move on to the next achievement in the instance.

Prince of Tides

Difficulty: Easy

This is an easy achievement that simply depends on your tank kiting an add through the first two phases and DPS being capable of dealing with the rest of the adds quickly.

The Unyielding Behemoth is an add that is summoned in the first phase of the fight that does shadow damage in a cone to anything in front of it. It also does a fair amount of damage to the tank if it stays on him. Since moving the behemoth anywhere near the party will mean that they take shadow damage from the cone effect as they move or as the tank moves to reposition, it is ideal if DPS deals with all other adds in phase one themselves. This is entirely possible as long as your group's DPS is realistic for a Heroic instance, meaning everyone over 10,000 DPS sustained and ideally in the 12-14,000 range. If DPS is low the other adds in phase one will stay alive too long and DPS will suffer too much damage for a healer to keep up with.

Phase two continues as normal, with the tank kiting the behemoth and picking up the blight beasts as they spawn. The tank kites all of them around the room while the DPS burns down the three faceless sappers.

Once the third faceless sapper dies, the group will get the tidal surge buff from Ozumat and the tank will be able to defeat all of the adds he has been kiting including the behemoth. All this occurs while DPS focuses on Ozumat above. As soon as the behemoth dies while under the effect of Ozumat’s buff you will earn the achievement.
