Operation: Shieldwall is an Alliance only faction that was added to World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria as of Patch 5.1. This faction is all about helping the Alliance gain the upper hand against the Horde in Pandaria. The Horde have a mirror image faction called the Dominance Offensive.

In the months that have passed since your first landing in Pandaria the Alliance has been gathering it's forces and has sent a mighty fleet to help. Your questing and reputation grind starts as the fleet nears the Pandaren shores.

Starting the Operation: Shieldwall Quest Chain

To start earning reputation with the Operation: Shieldwall faction you will need to head to Krasarang Cove in the eastern edge of the Krasarang Wilds. There you will find scout Lynna and will be asked to help her secure the landing site.

At this point King Varian Wrynn will show up and start the rest of the chain that allows you to start the daily quests and earn reputation. There are several quests in the area where King Varian appears on the beach which starts with A King Among Men which leads to more quests and trips to several of the new scenarios including: A Lion's Landing and A Little Patience.

The chain will also open up several daily quests that are located around the zone. There are several different sets that are randomly chosen from each day.

You will also be given a quest that is called The Best Around by Admiral Taylor that will lead you to the Brawler's Guild in Stormwind City. There a further quest chain will be given to you to hunt down the man with a thousand faces.

There are further quests chains that are provided once you reach different levels of reputation with the faction, so make sure you check back often with Admiral Taylor.

Operation: Shieldwall Daily Quests

Once you completed the initial quest chain for Operation: Shieldwall you will gain access to several different groups of daily quests. There are four different areas that these quests happen in around the Krasarang Wilds. One group of the four is randomly selected each day. Each site has 5 different daily quests to be completed.

Dominance Point - This set of quests take place at the far west area of the zone at the Horde Dominance base. It is important to note that there is a portal that can be found at the Operation: Shieldwall camp that can teleport you to the airship located here and back again.

Ruins of Ogudei - This set of quests take place in the north east corner of the zone.

Bilgewater Operations - You will find these quests far to the west.

Lion's Landing - This set of quests take place right at the newly created Lion's Landing.

Operation: Shieldwall Reputation Rewards

We all know that WoW players do nothing out of the good of their hearts, right? So, the Operation: Shieldwall faction will bribe you for your help with some really nice rewards. These are given as incentive to make helping them worth your time and effort.

As soon as you can access the quartermaster for the Operation: Shieldwall faction you will be able to purchase a blue quality ilevel 458 trinket which could help out some players. Being only an ilevel 458 although it can be replaced from an instance or raid pretty quickly, but for fresh level 90's it is a nice trinket to start out with.

At Honored this faction has some great rewards, especially for players that do not spend time raiding. Once Honored you will be able to purchase ilevel 496 epic rings. There are several different versions available so that tanks, healers, caster DPS, and melee DPS all have options available to them.

Next up at Revered there are even more great options including one that is generally hard to get for most players, a trinket. In addition to great trinket options there are also belts and boots that are available, all of which are ilevel 496.

Lastly at exalted you earn the ability to purchase a grand armored gryphon to show off the fact that you spent the time and effort to become exalted with this faction.

Earning Reputation Faster

There are a few ways to gain reputation faster than normal with factions in Pandaria that can help you save time in the game.

Earn Reputation in half the time!

The first way to gain reputation faster requires you to be working on reputation with any secondary characters that you have (or a primary that is at least revered). Once one character gets to revered with a faction you gain the ability to purchase an item from them called a Grand Commendation. This item allows you to earn double reputation with that faction on this and all other characters that you have. It is an awesome speed boost to earning rep, and one that you should make sure you grab as soon as you hit revered with each faction. It cuts that last 21,000 reputation required to get to Exalted down to half. The fact that it speeds up all other characters sure doesn't hurt either.

The second way to earn reputation faster is to champion a faction while running LFG dungeon runs and scenarios each day. This feature was added into the game with Patch 5.2. This feature is especially handy if you have gotten sick of doing dailies for various factions. You can select a faction to champion and you will get 200 reputation with them for the first scenario you complete each day and 300 reputation with them for the first LFG random dungeon that you run each day. Over time this 500 points each day really adds up. If you team this up with a character that already has a Grand Commendation, it means you can get from revered to exalted in 10 days just with scenario and dungeon runs. Not to shabby.

You can tell which reputation you will earn in scenarios and dungeons by which star is filled in, and which factions you are earning double reputation with by the bars that have the arrows on them.
