The World of Warcraft (WoW) movie has had a rather shaky attempt at getting started. Initially Evil Dead and Spider-Man director Sam Raimi was set to helm the film adaptation of the MMORPG but stepped away from the project. Raimi later blamed Blizzard for delays holding up the film’s production.

Since Raimi’s departure the movie was handed off to Duncan Jones, director of Moon and Source Code. Producer Charles Roven confirmed to Slashfilm that filming is expected to begin in early 2014, so we’ll have to wait and see if this actually happens or if yet another delay will plague the start of the WoW movie.
