Mists
of Pandaria Beta
Pandaren
Valley of the Four Winds Zone Walkthrough

The Mists of Pandaria beta has been live and
playable for a while now, and the whole game is getting more polished and stable as time goes by. One of the best parts of any new expansion is all of the new quests and storylines that open up as you explore new areas and level up your characters.

What's great about the MOP expansion is that it pretty much happens all on the new continent of Pandaria which is a blank slate for us. All of the lore, characters, scenery, and quests are all brand new and exciting. Being that I really love quests and lore (and hope you do to), exploring this new content is one of the best parts of any expansion.

In this guide we will walk through several of the quest chains in the Valley of the Four Winds zone of Mists of Pandaria to get you prepped to move through it quickly when the game launches. So get ready to read ahead and find out all about the new starting zone in Mists of Pandaria.

Quest Hub - Pang's Stead

Well this is where it all starts when you enter Pandaria, you are off to visit a little quest hub called Pang's Stead which is a farm area in the zone called Valley of the Four Winds.

Pang's Stead style="text-align: center;">This is a simple quest which has you follow Chen and Li Li up the hill to a farm to enjoy a brew. You have to love the Pandaren, always time for more brew. At Pang's stead you will find a pandaren name Xiao sitting outside talking about the hidden master. When you talk to him he will provide four different quests to find and talk to four different people in the area, you don't have to track them all down right away, complete the quests over time when you come near them.

Pang's Stead

Once at Pang's stead he apologizes for the state of things at his farm. He wants you to help him deal with the Virmen in the area that are over running the area. Seek out and slay 10 Virmen in the area for him. style="text-align: center;">Muno the farmhand at Pang's stead also has a quest for you to do with the Virmen. You job is to find and return pieces of farm equipment that have been stolen by the Virmen. The problem is that the Virmen are more than just a little slow, they are downright dumb, and have planted the equipment in the fields in an attempt to have it grow.

The Virmen in the area have stollen his turnips and watermelons. You can find them in a nearby cave and in the river respectively. Collect 5 of each for him and return.

You need to simply click on them to punt them from the farm, as well as clicking on their holes to fill them in. After finding and saving the crops for Ang he needs help getting them back to his father. Simply take the box of produce back up the hill to Pang.

Quest
Hub - Thunderfoot Ranch and Thunderfoot Fields

Once you have helped out Pang, its time to venture out a little further and help some of his other family members. You first must be launched by Miss Fanny to help out Liang at Thunderfoot Ranch, and then once done there trave south a little to help out a poor frightened shepherd boy that isn't just falsely crying wolf.

Thunderfoot Ranch style="text-align: center;">Liang needs some help at his ranch, and you're more than willing to help out. The first thing he needs is meat for his picky pigs. Go out and collect steaks from the nearby Mushan (which look like dinosaurs) and scraps of turtle meat from the turtles found near the river. Liang also lost three of his prized pigs. Look for them in the fields nearby. They shouldn't be hard to find, 2 are by the mushan beasts for the previous quest and the other is by the rivers with the turtles.

Francis is too scared to protect his own livestock since a pack of wolves and flock hawks moved into the area. Help him out and kill off some of the hawks right around his hut, and the wolves just to the south.

He asks that you rope a great white plainshawk circling above and defeat it to show Francis what real bravery is, and then to meet him at his hut to the west.

Hub - Mudmug's Place

After running into Chen and Li Li again you head down the road with them to sample more brew. The only issue is, once again the proprietor has issues with Virmen in the area and needs a hand. Have no fear though Chen and Li Li both have plans to deal with the Virmen.

style="text-align: center;">Seeing that the brewer Mudmug won't server any beer until the Virmen in the area are ran off, Chen comes up with a plan to take out the key Virmen rather than all of them. You need to find and slay 3 key pesky varmints in the area. They are all above ground, no need to enter the warrens. Li Li has a sense of humour about the Virmen and wants to play some tricks on them. Collect some yellow flowers from the hill tops and some red animal blood (not Virmen blood) so that she can paint some turnips orange.

Mudmug's Place style="text-align: center;">The second part of Chen's plan is to off the Warren-mother Chufa now that the breeding fathers are dealt with. You will find her down in the warren. She is an elite though so take some care unless you are geared up. Li Li's plan has come together, now to trick the Virmen. While working on the other quests, chuck the orange-coloured turnips to the various Virmen and watch the hilarity.

You will find them down in the warren while dealing with the warren-mother and handing out fake carrots. Chen finally gets to try Mudmug's brew and really enjoys it. Mudmug then mentions another brewery just down the road, and Chen gets all excited to go and visit the Stormstout Brewery, since he is part of that family. He heads of and leaves you to explore the area further with Li Li.

Mudmug's Place style="text-align: center;">

While Chen is away Li Li wants to explore the surrounding area. There are three spots she wants to visit, and two of them lead to a lot more quests, so we will deal with those quests as we move onto each of those quest hugs. It is enough for right now to simply visit each of the three areas: the Huangtze falls, the silken fields, and new Cifera.

Mudmug would like a little more help with his brewing. This time he would like you to head to the river to collect some muddy water. This quest is obnoxious, as the bottle leaks any time you move, and it takes several spots to fill it. Your best bet is to take your time and find an area with several muddy water sections in the river close by, collect them and wait for them to respawn so you do not have to move.

This completes the quests at the first three quest hubs in the Valley of the Four Winds. It also shows you at least two more hubs that you will visit next the Silken Fields and New Cifera. Also left open are the four masters to talk to from Pang's Stead right at the beginning of the zone, but don't worry you will get to them soon enough, in fact one is in New Cifera. Also introduced is the famous Stormstout Brewery, so you know it will be time to visit there soon enough as well.
