Aion's server merge plans have been delayed until July 14th, 2010 to allow for a new name changing process to be implemented. With the announcement, NCsoft also explained a new details about the merger relating to character names and the extension of free server transfers. Names will be changed to reflect the server from which a character came from. For example, Fergreedy on Azphel would become FergreedyAZ. However, players will be granted a free Name Change ticket that they can use to reclaim old names or select new ones on a first come, first served basis.
Due to the merger delay, free character transfers will be extended to August 25th, 2010. You can read more in the official announcement and the Aion Server Merge FAQ.
