Age of Conan update 1.05.4 saw sweeping changes for the Bear Shaman and Barbarian classes leaving many players wondering why the changes were made and what they mean for those of us who plays these classes.
AoC Designer Dave Williams breaks down the changes and explains why these little tweaks were needed for the betterment of these two classes.
One of the areas we wanted to focus on was the experience of playing and managing the Bear Shamans abilities themselves. Players quite rightly pointed out that there was a lot to micromanage on occasion to really get the optimal performance from the Bear Shaman. Therefore we approached these changes with a view to reducing this overhead without removing the benefits of any of the previous abilities and expanding on them where possible. We removed the concept of totems, rolling their benefits into other abilities, combos and feats.
