One of the phenomenon's that strikes me as being almost exclusively MMOG-based is the love/hate relationship that exists on an MMOGs patch day. While single-player gamers may be overjoyed when a patch comes down the pipe, anticipating better frame-rates, more dialogue, or fixed quests; an MMOG gamer almost loathes the next patch as if there weren't any problems with the game, their class, or the way a particular item works. As we all know, when a patch comes down the pipe our character's inherently change in one way or another. They might go from a fighting force able to devastate thousand of NPC mobs to a weakling that can barely lift his own sword. If there have been other players exploiting a particular loophole in the game, some of our basic foundations of gameplay could change.
