Our first hero tonight is the Sable Spectre. He has chosen the classic
black and gray color combination to work with. All in all, Ronaldo is
rather pleased with this look. It’s simple and stylish. In
fact, Ronaldo would go as far as to say that
it’s….classy. The one thing that does displease
Ronaldo is the hat. While a hat can be a much needed component of a
stylish outfit, this hat does not fit the look of the costume. The hat
is too big for one thing. It draws the eye to it, taking away the
attention that should be riveted on the amazing masculine chin of the
Sable Spectre. In fact, Ronaldo recommends that the Sable Spectre grow
a little five o’clock shadow to provide some nice emphasis on
that amazing chin and jaw line. Ronaldo can stare at that all day long,
but my duty to my fashion crusade calls! To sum up, great costume (and
chin!), but lose the hat.
I am withholding this hero’s name in order to spare his
feelings. Ronaldo does not wish to hurt anybody’s feelings,
dahlings, but I felt that this outfit would be useful to contrast with
the previous one. Compared to the Sable Spectre’s, this
costume is lacking. While Ronaldo approves of the skin-tight fit,
emphasizing those amazing abs, this suit comes across as rather bland.
The pants would look better if they’re weren’t
monochrome, but rather having a second color tone. Some vertical
stripes on the pants would help break up the monotony. The boots are
too gray as well. Ronaldo would prefer them to be black. Overall, this
costume isn’t hideous, but it’s rather dull.
There’s no pop to it. If I was an evil thug, I would prefer
being captured by someone more stylish than Mr. Fifties Business Suit
Look shown here.
We now say hello to Cantrip, my dahlings. She exudes style from her
little glove-clad hands to her delicious shoes. Green is always a good
color choice to complement those heroes with red hair. Ronaldo loves
the small green mask providing privacy and I especially adore the green
belt around her waist. Simply amazing! That belt really ties the whole
outfit together. Ronaldo is pleased to see that this heroine can really
use accessories to bring a look together! That being said, Ronaldo does
have one reservation about his outfit. I do not think that this outfit
would be all that practical for crime fighting. It’s great
for a night out on the town, hitting all the hot spots and clubs, but
as for dishing it out to the foes of law and order…no. If
Cantrip fights bad guys in this outfit, you know that they’re
thinking, “I see London, I see France, I see
Cantrip’s…..” There’s no need
to give the bad guys a free show, dahling! Replace the mini dress with
some tights, and you’re good to go. Just make sure you keep
the belt!
We now turn our fashionable eyes to Sidestep, dahlings. My first
question when looking at his outfit was which way did he step? Was the
costume all white, thus stepping to his left into a wall that was
freshly painted black, or did he have a black costume to begin with,
thereby meaning that he stepped to his right into a wall freshly
painted white? Inquiring minds want to know! Plus, I keep thinking of
that episode from the original series of Star Trek. You know the one
Ronaldo means. The one where the two aliens were fighting each other
because one was black on the left side of his face and white on the
right side whilst the other alien was the opposite. (Yes,
Ronaldo’s mind sometimes goes to strange places!) Back to our
friend, Sidestep. Overall, the look isn’t bad, but I would
suggest some contrasts. Some black highlights on the white part of the
costume, and some white highlights on the black part. Nothing too
fancy, perhaps a stripe on the pants, the shoulder pads, and the wrist
bracers. Contrasting highlights really make an outfit pop, dahlings!
Remember that.
We now come to the final outfit of the night, dahlings. This is
Exemplar, and for once, the name fits. This outfit is tight. The color
combination of white and gold really go great together, and the black
highlights really tie it all together. Ronaldo would probably prefer
tights on the bottom, but it seems that most heroes I’ve
talked to prefer the leotard look. Ronaldo doesn’t really get
the whole muscled, bare leg look for heroines, but I guess if
you’re into really fit women with long legs, then more power
to you! Plus, Ronaldo loves the golden cape. It enhances the outfit; it
doesn’t overpower the rest of the costume. As for the
belt….magnificent!
