Recording Artist to Make
Guest Appearance in DANCE! Online

DANCE! Online, a free online dancing game being published
Acclaim Games, is going to host a guest appearance by an actual
recording artist in-game! If you ever wanted to dance to the "Cupid
Shuffle" but were too embarassed to try, here's your opportunity. The
details are below, courtesy of the official press release:
Atlantic
Records recording artist Cupid will make a personal virtual appearance
in the Free to Play multiplayer online game DANCE! Online. In
a video game industry first, players will get a chance to meet the one
and only Cupid in the game, dance to his new single “Cupid
Shuffle,” and play or chat with him online from anywhere in
the world. Players will also get a chance to win special
prizes by participating in the Cupid Event.
The Cupid Event will be the first time a recording artist has actually
appeared in a video game and interacted with other people as a virtual
character. Cupid will appear live in the game and chat with
fans using a 3D character created to look just like him in the virtual
game world. The game will introduce the song “Cupid
Shuffle” to thousands of players and fans as they dance to
Cupid’s new single in the game. The in-game Item
Shop will feature Cupid’s personalized virtual items
including artist-branded clothing, accessories and more.
Lucky winners will get a chance to win special Cupid prizes, such as a
Cupid shirt item or a signed poster from Cupid
himself.
The event runs from Fri May 4 to Sun May 6, with the artist Cupid
making his in-game appearances at various times to interact with
different players. Cupid will be in the game for about an
hour each day: Fri May 4 at 10am PT, Sat May 5 at 7am PT, and Sun May 6
at 3pm PT.
Acclaim has also been kind enough to pass some screenshots of
