1up.com just received a new entry on their Developer's Blog section from Ole Herbjornsen, Lead Designer for Funcom's anticipated MMORPG, Age of Conan Hyborian Adventures. In his new Blog entry, Ole discusses the optimization process and what Funcom is doing tomake the game all that it can be.

In my last update I mentioned the polish and optimization process. This is a process which has been going on for some time and will be going on all the way up to launch. The optimizations can be done both in code, in data or both. It could be anything from reducing the number of ground textures used by the game (data) to turning off rendering of certain objects at a certain distance (code) to changing to a different texture format and increasing performance (code + data).
