En Masse Entertainment, the company behind TERA with Bluehole Studio, has signed a new global agreement with Digital River, an e-commerce company, for the next few years. We know that TERA plans to have a subscription model and according to their FAQ this is still the payment model, but this new deal would seem to indicate that TERA may go with more of the increasingly popular hybrid option as in a recent press release it was announced that Digital River will manage in-game commerce and launch an online store to support North American sales for TERA.

Digital River, Inc. (NASDAQ: DRIV), a leading provider of global e-commerce solutions, today announced that it has signed a global, multi-year agreement with En Masse Entertainment, a game publisher focused on delivering world class online video games to Western audiences. Under the agreement, which runs through 2014, Digital River will manage in-game commerce and launch an online store to support North American sales of En Masse’s soon-to-be-released flagship action MMO, TERA. The store is expected to launch in 2011.
