Take Final Fantasyesque characters, put them in the Asian Middle Age and you are ready to see Ether Saga. In fact Perfect World Entertainment has just put the game into Open Beta so you can. The information on their site provides all the details you need:
Ether Saga Online is now live for all players to enjoy! Were incredibly proud of the game, and we feel that it is a solid experience for players of all skill levels. We hope that you will enjoy the game as much as we do!
If you are starting the game for the first time, please download the client at http://eso.perfectworld.com/download. Its free to download, and free to play! You will need to register for an account as well at https://register.perfectworld.com/register. This is also free!
When you have installed the game and run it for the first time, you will need to update the game to version 17 (the client download is version 15). The game should automatically detect that it needs to be updated. If not, you can always download the 15-17 manual patch at http://eso.perfectworld.com/download. Once youre in the game world, talk to any person with a gold icon over their head. They will give you quests and teach you how to play the game. If you ever get stuck, feel free to ask for help in the game, ask our GMs by hitting CTRL-G, or post in our forums. Were here to assist you.
If you had played the closed beta, then you will not have to download a new client. You can update the existing client to v17. If you have problems using the auto-updater, there is also a v1-17 patch that will get your closed beta client up-to-date.
We have also launched a variety of tools for players on the website:
We have a web-based version of the in-game help guide located at http://eso.perfectworld.com/guide. You can use this page to learn about the various gameplay mechanics in Ether Saga Online.
There is a player rankings page located at http://eso.perfectworld.com/rank. Find out where you stack up against other players.
In the next few days, we will be monitoring the game and fixing any issues if they arise. We will also be posting a big State of the Game post to review recent changes and give you an idea on what to expect from the game. In the meantime, enjoy Ether Saga Online!
