CCP Chronotis has posted a new EVE Online developer blog that explains changes that will be coming to New Eden with the Tyrannis expansion. Rogue drone compounds will be getting a few adjustments that will allow drone region dwellers to be a bit more self-sufficient. Changes to asteroid mining are also explained a bit as higher amounts of low end materials will be introduced and some changes made to make low sec or certain null sec more desirable to mine. The last topic covers insurance changes, the game's method of compensating players who suffer an untimely death in-game. The system allows players recover some of their currency to help pay for a new ship. The insurance changes will adjust payouts for ships to allow a higher payout for some more risky choices and a lower for others with a higher survivability.
Here we can then say that a tackler class which is a highly dangerous role and prone to see you dying a lot might pay out more than say a specialist covert ops class of ship has a higher survival rate. So players who fly the ships with short life expectancies will be more sustainable to fly on lower incomes, and the same can be applied to more casual ship classes such as cruisers or battlecruisers used more by newer players to allow them to get to grips with the game whilst not losing everything constantly.
