And this time, there will be no mining!

Holding a PvP tournament in Eve Online seems like a redundancy since PvP is a way of life for players of the game. It reminds me of having a water balloon fight at a pool. Apparently such a tournament met with great success at Fan Fest so they are going to open it up to the general populace. With no sign ups available just yet, CCP Mindstar is just whetting our appetites with some of the basic information:

"We don't anticipate a huge change in rules (although I already told him NO MINING!), but we do want to change things up a little from previous tournaments to keep everyone on their toes. The primary goal we have in mind is to tweak the points system so we see some more heavy hitting combat from both battleships and battlecruisers. I won't steal Claw's thunder, but I think we have some good tweaks to the points system in the works..."

The posted time frame shows sign ups in late December with the actual tournament starting in late January. The best news for us in the North American time zones is that the tournament will only be played on Saturdays and Sundays, no more missing work on Fridays! More information can be found on the Alliance Tournament VI page.
