The Lone Lands lie to the east of Bree-Land and the west of Trollshaws. It is a vast area for seasoned adventurers looking to expand beyond the lower level areas. There are many quest and several areas of notable content throughout the Lone Lands, including an area of high regard in the Lord of the Rings books known as Weathertop, but one can easily become lost in such a massive landscape. Let Tentonhammer show you the way with a Guided Tour of the lone Lands.

The Forsaken Inn

Your first stop in the Lone Lands will be the Forsaken Inn. It is located just east of the entrance from Bree-Land and it is a safe haven refuge from the violence of the outer lands. This inn has seen better days as is apparent by its damaged roof top, but the patrons will still happily serve the free peoples of Middle Earth. Here you can acquire many quests, use the bind point, gain a new horse route, and buy and sell goods. Do mind your step as one of its patrons may have had one to many ales and has decided to take a nap on the floor downstairs.

Minas Eriol

South of the Forsaken inn is the ruins of Minas Eriol. One can find many lost relics within the ruins, but beware; the ruins have been over run with Orcs and Wargs. Northeast of the ruin entrance you can find a passage over run with spiders. If you choose to proceed deeper into the ruins from the entrance, take the stairs that lead up to the east. Atop the hill at the top of the stairs you can find a person by the name of Leofwenna in need of an escort to escape the ruins.

The Weather Hills

Located just north of the Forsaken Inn are the Weather Hills. These hills span a vast area of the northern section of the Lone Lands. All manner of creatures patrol these lands such as Wargs and Orcs. The Orcs have set up camps near the base of Weathertop so be on your guard when traversing this area.

Weathertop

Located northeast of the Forsaken inn and within the Weather Hills is a popular scene from the books known as Weathertop, an ancient watch tower of Amon Sul. Weathertop is on a high rise hillside and can be accessed by a winding path that leads to the summit. This is also the setting for an instance that takes place in the Lone Lands known as “Retaking Weathertop”. A ranger by the name of Candaith has set up an encampment on the northwest base of Weathertop. You should pay him a visit and offer your help. He will grant you the task to access the Weathertop instance.

Bleakrift

If you head northwest of Weathertop into the far northwestern reaches of the Weather Hills you will find the Orcish encampment of Bleakrift. This is one of the most fortified strongholds of the Orcish incursion in the Lone Lands. Located at the top of the highest hill in Bleakrift is the commander of the encampment War-Master Uzorr.

Naerost

Located to the east of Weathertop is Naerost. These ruins are now home to many Half-Orcs and guarding the entrance is Snagabash a fierce Half-Orc who dislikes visitors. A skilled hunter can use these creatures for practice and acquire many treasures from them from their previous plunder, but don’t be fooled. This area is very dangerous and a foolish adventurer who carelessly leaps foreword could find themselves over run by countless foes. Located deep within these ruins is Hontimurz. There are those within the Lone Lands that would pay well to see this foe defeated.

Thandobel

Located east and slightly south of the Forsaken inn are the ruins of Thandobel. It has become a dwelling for Half-Orcs and Shornbeard Dwarves. They guard the path that leads to the stronghold of the Dwarves known as Mithrenost.

Mithrenost

Mithrenost is located on a hillside just southwest of the Thandobel ruins. The path to access the entrance to the stronghold is located on the hill just south of Thandobel. The Shornbeard Dwarves inhabit this area and guard it well, but a persistent adventurer can fight their way into these ruins and confront the person pulling the strings of the Shornbeard's. This person is located at the heart of the stronghold and is the Dourhand Overseer. Those Dourhand have a hand in everything evil it seems.

Amon Ros

Amon Ros is located east of Naerost. These ruins are home to a large number of spiders and webbed cocoons. If you are seeking items taken by the spiders of the Lone Lands, this is an excellent place to search.

Ost Cyrn

Ost Cyrn is located directly south of Amon Ros and is home to the Tarkrip Orcs. This is a great place for a skilled adventurer to cut their teeth in combat against the Orcs. There are also people within the Lone Lands that will pay well to see these Orcs dead.

Ost Guruth

Ost Gurath is located near the center of the lone lands. It can be found north of the main road and east of Amon Ros. This city is the last safe haven between the Lone Lands and the border of Trollshaws to the east. You can find crafting stations, merchants, quest and even the legendary wizard Radagast the Brown within the city.

Tornstones

East of Ost Cyrn is a small encampment of Half-Giants known as Earth-Kin. These are a friendly race, but have recently had strained relations with the people of the Lone Lands. Perhaps someone in Ost Gurath can help smooth the relations a bit.

Haragmar

Haragmar is a swamp located east of Ost Guruth. The swamp has been corrupted by the undead and Radagast the brown will need you to investigate. Beware of the plants within the swamp. They do bite.

Nan Dhelu

Nan Dhelu is located to the east of Haragmar swamp. The ruins of this place are now inhabited by the ghostly Wight’s and Gaunt Men. These ruins serve as a breading ground for the undead to spawn and anyone seeking the Sigil’s to aid in stopping the corruption can seek them out from the Gaunt Men of Nan Dhelu.

Agamaur

North of Haragmar swamp is the Red Pass. This leads to Agamaur. This area is populated by powerful elite creatures that inhabit the surrounding area. There is one safe haven inside Agamaur located to the west. This small outpost will provide you with a safe haven from the wilds of Agamaur and allow you to find some additional work from its inhabitants. This area is also the site of an alternate instanced version for Epic Book 2

The Outer Gates

Located in the northeast corner of Agamaur is an encampment of human loyalist and corrupted evil spirits. Deep within that encampment is a door leading to an area called the Outer Gates near Garth Agarwen. If you plan on entering make sure you take plenty of help.

Harloeg

Harloeg is a swamp located south of Haragmar and southeast of Tornstones. This swamp is home to many vile creatures and insects and is home to many refuges of evil. In the southwest corner of Harloeg are the ruins of Nindor. This has become the dwelling home of many Wight’s. Just east of Nindor is a small safe haven and area of study known as Ost Haer. To the east of Ost Haer within the forest is a large contingency of trolls. One would be wise to take many allies before entering the forest.

The Last Bridge

The final area you will see when leaving the Lone Lands to the east is the barrier bridge that separates the Lone Lands and Trollshaws known as the Last Bridge. This is where the border of these two areas ends. When you are prepared for the path that lies ahead, make your way east into Trollshaws.
