February 19th Tier List and Earlier.

Which heroes in Heroes of the Storm have the most impact on a game you ask?

Which heroes always seem to be on the winning side of the table?

February 10th Patch Notes with explanations from the Dev Team.

**Remember, it’s the player’s skill, not the Hero choice that is most important.  This list assumes equal player skill level.

Lost Vikings are not included as they are currently not allowed in professional play.   They are showing a 60% win rate in ranked at the moment.

If you are interested only in the META, then here is my February 15th META update.

As of February 24th, 2015, I rank the Heroes as follows.   There was no patch this week, so most of the Heroes have held their places.

Your mileage may vary, consult your doctor, don’t feed after midnight.

Tier 1

Assassin – Illidan - Proving his worth and joining T1.  Weak early.  Assassin – Valla - An all-around solid Assassin.    Assassin – Zeratul - Remains  the most feared Hero in professional play.  Specialist – Sgt. Hammer - Remains in Tier 1.  Still chosen in nearly every Pro game.  Big push potential and big basic attacks.   Support – Malfurion - Remains in T1.  Good heals and good cc.  Support – Tassadar - Remains T1.  My personal favourite support character.     Support - Tyrande - Stays in T1.  Combined with Stitches is an incredible force.  (Hook, Mark, Kill) Support – Uther - Stays in T1.  Played in almost 100% of pro matches.   Tank – Muradin - Remains in T1.  Good escape / engage and his stun... oh his stun.  Tank – Stitches - Always taken or banned, with good reason.

Tier 2

Assassin – Tychus - I like the Odin changes; some don't. Fire it up early and destroy the opposition in team fights.  Specialist – Nazeebo can zone, deal damage and if left alone his ult can wreck your foes.  Support – Rehgar - Played a lot, but not my style.   Can turn a game in the right hands.  Support  – Brightwing - Remains a fantastic support.  Arguably should be in T1.  Specialist - Zagara - Always delivers and easy to play.  Tank – Arthas - Lacks a good engage or escape, but is as tanky as any hero.   Tank – E.T.C. - Drops one Tier, but still a very potent Hero.  Tank – Tyrael - An excellent choice as a second tank if you are using that composition.

Tier 3 (Useful if you can't get the Hero that you want)

Assassin – Jaina - Dies too quickly to make the top two Tiers.  Assassin – Kerrigan - Still viable in the right hands, but soft since the patch.  Assassin - Thrall - Free to play this week, but doesn't provide enough to land higher than T3. Assassin – Nova - Too situational to be played often in Pro play.  Specialist - Azmodan - Seeing more Pro play, but lacks flexibility.  Tank - Anub’arak - May see a move to T2 next week if solid play continues.  Tank - Diablo - Loved or hated.  Leaving him here.

Tier 4 (Usefulness debateable - but playable in the right hands)

Assassin – Falstad - Great mobility.   Dies in an instant.  Assassin – Raynor - Requires incredible positioning to play well.  Lack of escape keeps him in low Tier.  Specialist – Abathur - Jumps two Tiers.  A great Abathur player changes the game.  Still doesn't provide enough to reach Top Tiers.  Support - Lili - Great ult, but it can be interrupted.  Tank – Chen - Fun to play, but delivers less than any tank ranked higher on this list.

Tier 5 (You need to be very competent to choose these)

Assasin - Sonya - No escape means you spend a lot of time dead.

Tier 6 (Avoid or face the wrath of your team)

Specialist – Gazlowe - Terrible in most every way.  Specialist - Murky - Even worse than Gazlowe.

What would you change? Why?
