How to Fix the New World Black Screen Error

New World is finally out and players are experiencing bugs, errors, crashes and more.  

The black screen error is an especially aggravating one as it occurs once a player has created their character and is ready to join a server. The black screen makes it seem like the game is locked up, but wait it out.   The game is actually trying to find a server.   It will eventually either find a server or time out.  

If you find that this doesn't work (but it should 99% of the time) then restart the game and create a character on a different server. 

Once the initial rush of players subsided this should go away for good.
