It had been reported a while back that Live Gamer (an RMT service company) had entered into a deal with Sony Online Entertainment which sent players of all SOE games into a panic of what exactly this all meant. John Smedley of SOE issued this statement clarifying that EverQuest II was in no danger of taking on RMT outside of the Exchange service.
Further news on this deal between Live Gamer and SOE broke with a press released issued by Live Gamer today detailing how the service will be used in connection with EverQuest II and the Station Exchange servers.
Live Gamer will enable Live Gamer Exchange with EverQuest II servers currently using Station Exchange. In addition, SOE and Live Gamer will work together closely to provide a smooth migration for existing EverQuest II Station Exchange users to the web-based Live Gamer Exchange service.
