The Mines of Moria wouldn't be called what it is without some, you
know, mines, and one of these is the Silvertine Lodes.  This deep
pit is one of the first places an adventurer in Moria will get to, just
south of the Dolven-View near the western entrance to Moria. 
Infested with giant insects, a goblin tribe, and deadly bats, the
Silvertine Lode is not a place for the unprepared.
