It's always fun to see the inter-class drama that appears on the forums from time to time *cough*Templar*cough*Fury.* Moorgard takes a few minutes to explain the differences between the two classes.
Bruiser and monk damage output, in the overall game-wide sense, is intended to be very close together. We've never made any statement that bruisers should always outdamage monks. There are, however, situations where each has a slight edge, because they arrive at their DPS in somewhat different ways.
