The boys at Penny Arcade are pleased to announce that this year's PAX not only will be the largest for them ever, but they might be turning their show into something that will rival the largest of E3's of days gone by. With pre-registration ended on August 1st, they've already sold more tickets than last year total. 39,000 people showed up last year, and we haven't even seen who will just show up at the door this year.
Khoo also filled in a few details about the East Coast PAX announced last week. The two shows will be staggered, with "PAX Prime" continuing in the fall, and PAX EC taking place in the spring. There's no set location for the show yet, but organizers have narrowed it down to about four locations. The inaugural PAX EC had originally been planned to take place this year, but Khoo said it was logistically impossible to organize it while still managing the growth of the main show.
