Pre-ordering Woes for WAR

Don't move after you pre-order!

In a seemingly isolated incident, a fellow gamer is quite upset at EA after he pre-ordered the Collector's Edition of Warhammer Online and then moved. It seems that once you place your pre-order, no details about that order can be changed, including shipping address. This left our fellow gamer in a sticky situation.

"So it's either cancel my order and don't receive the now sold-out Collector's Edition, or just let it ship to a place I don't live," complained Micah. "It seems there should be some way of contacting the fulfilment agency if you're going to release a pre-sell of a Collector's Edition eight months before the game even comes out."

If it were me, I would have hoped the new occupants of that address weren't gamers, and I could work something out with them instead of canceling the order of the now sold out Collector's Edition. While this problem will not be widespread (I hope!), it is unfortunately one in a series of negative-press events for EA, Mythic Entertainment, and Warhammer Online. And we certainly shouldn't judge the game on what's happening with it's company. Here's to misunderstandings!
