Official Information from EA Mythic
The Grand Duchy of Talabecland lies at the center of the Empire and borders upon more Grand Provinces than any other. Talbecland's dominant features include the rivers Stir and Talabec, and the Great Forest. Much of the province's trade flows along these rivers, and north and south along the Great Forest Road. When times are relatively tranquil, the province is a thriving center of commerce and the many coaching inns that line the roads of Talabecland are typically filled to capacity with merchants and tradesmen of all kinds. In the Age of Reckoning, however, Talabecland is anything but tranquil.
Because their homeland lies between Ostland and Reikland, the folk of Talabecland find themselves directly in the path of the invading Chaos Warhost. They are ill-prepared to deal with such a threat, for the plague has taken a heavy toll in the province. Throughout the countryside, towns and villages have been emptied as the peasants flee to the mountains for shelter. The provincial militia has been crippled by the plague, its numbers reduced nearly by half. It seems Talabecland will be easy pickings for the barbaric Northmen.
The brave soldiers of the Order of the Griffon have come to Talabecland both to aid in its defense and to confront the sinister servants of Chaos responsible for the creation and spread of the plague. It is these evil cultists who, guided by unseen hands, have been seeding the plague in the towns and villages along the Northmen's route of invasion. In so doing, they have weakened the Empire's defenses in its most vital areas. It is an insidious scheme, and if the Order's warriors and wizards do not move quickly to put a stop to the plot, it will be too late to save the Empire.
The agents of Chaos, meanwhile, have work of their own to carry out in Talabecland. The warhost continues its inexorable march toward the Empire's capital city, easily defeating any army the Elector Count of Talabecland throws against it. Meanwhile, moving stealthily across the countryside under cover of night, a handpicked band of Raven Host warriors embarks on a mission given them by Warlord Tchar'zanek himself. The Dark Gods have gifted the Champion with visions of a powerful artifact buried in Talabecland and now long forgotten. He requires this artifact to carry out his master plan, and has dispatched the Raven Host to retrieve it.
The artifact is called the Corruptor's Crown, and as the servants of the Great Manipulator will soon learn, this relic of power is anything but forgotten. The Crown, which is imbued with the corrupting power of the Chaos god Slaanesh, has recently resurfaced and now sits upon the brow of a vain noblewoman, Lady Anhilda Kreuger. Seduced by promises of eternal beauty and youth, she has given her soul willingly to the Dark Prince and in return, has been blessed with sorcerous powers.
She will bring all of these to bear against the devotees of the Raven God, for she knows that they have come to claim her prize. Summoning forth a great host of Daemonettes, Chaos Spawn and other creatures of the abyss, Lady Kreuger commands her vile servants to stop the Raven Host by any means necessary.
Lady Kreuger is not the only disciple of the Ruinous Powers to be found in Talabecland. At the Meuselbach Farms south of the river Talabec, a terrible conspiracy has taken root. Lord Mueselbach, a former Wizard of the Grey College who was expelled for dabbling in the forbidden arts, has fallen under the sway of Tzeentch. Now, he willingly submits to the dictates of his new master, infecting the shipments of wheat and grain that leave his farm with the plague. It is only a matter of time before the Empire discovers this treachery, and the response will no doubt be swift and merciless.
As the battle for control of Talabecland rages on, the outlook is increasingly grim for the people of the Empire. Grave concern turns to desperation, and the Talabecland army is ordered to destroy the bridges that grant passage from the lands north of the Talabec River to those in the south. No force has been able to defeat the invading warhost, but if it can be slowed, then perhaps the High Elves and Dwarfs can reinforce the hopelessly outnumbered armies of men.
If the forces of Chaos win through, the way to Reikland will be open and Altdorf, capital of the greatest nation of men in the Old World, will be within reach. It is a battle the Emperor cannot afford to lose.
TenTonThought
Sitting between Reikland and Ostland, Talabecland is a location under siege by the forces of Chaos. With Knights Griffon defending them, the people of Talabecland are readying themselves against a massive Chaos Warhost that is on the march. With forces of the Changer of Ways working against the Empire and trying to recover an unholy artifact in the area, it seems that Talabecland will be a site of great conquest and intrigue for all sides.
