Or at least a few of my faves, are back at it with some Friday blogging!
First we have the amazing Blackguard over at Nerfbat.com with his thoughts on the sociability of MMOs:
It appears the experts have discovered something many of us have known for years: Massively Multiplayer Online Games are not necessarily socially destructive. According to University of Illinois researchers, online games appear to be well-suited for social bridging.
Then we have the always thoughtful Moorgard giving his 2 cents (and more) on death in gaming:
The extent to which death should impact your play experience, of course, is a matter of considerable debate among those who discuss MMOs. Its a topic that tends to solicit strong opinions, in large part because of the reactions to the penalties players have experienced in previous games they played.
Then finally, we have the always amusing Aggro Me with his review of a couple of demos he's played recently:
I played two demos recently that I thought were worth mentioning. Prey is a first person shooter with some gimmicks (portals, gravity shifts, a novel death mechanic). Dark Messiah of Might and Magic is a first person action game with a fantasy setting that uses the Source engine.
