Festival time has arrived in Middle-earth once again. This festival brings fun, games, prizes, and special festival food and drink. Each of the four races has established festival grounds within their realm to allow willing participants to join the festivities. Through games of chance, you can earn tokens for prizes, learn new dance emotes, and even win items that will allow you to trade a horse for a special festival horse.

You can play a game in each that will allow you to obtain an item. This item can be exchanged for festival tokens. The tokens can then be used with any of the festival barter merchants to obtain prize items. Most of these items are housing decorations, but there is one, that will allow you to learn how to play a cow bell. In Bree-land you can participate in a horse race that will allow you to earn an item to exchange your horse for a gray colored festival horse. The trick here is to actually get in the race, as it is quite popular.
The festival of Bree-land offers much in the way of items and games. The first place you will want to visit is the pumpkin patch at loc: 24.7s, 51.3w. You can click on the pumpkin patch and try your luck with the pumpkins game. There are three types of pumpkins for this game. Each one gives a different amount of tokens. Small pumpkins can be bartered for one token, medium for two tokens, and large for three tokens. (Note: One problem I see a lot of people having is picking up these kinds of items. When you right click the patch and the loot window opens, right click the item and agree to bind it as it is bind on acquire. This will pick up the item and place it in your inventory. Also note that if you close the window or do not loot the item, the one hour cool down timer will still be placed on you, so you will have to wait one hour before trying again.) The items can be bartered to the games master for this area, Bess Forester. She is located on the platform right beside the pumpkins.
One other game that is exclusive to Bree-land is the "Festival Run." This is a horse race between four players on a track surrounding the festival grounds. This game will allow you to earn a needed item for exchanging your horse, if you so choose. This game is very popular and usually crowded, so actually getting in the race is the real challenge. Races take place every ten minutes, and only four participants can race at a time. To enter a race, you must speak with Sally Threshing, but she will only speak to people and give the quest starting at five minutes before the race.
The last game in Bree-land is the dancing game. If you can successfully complete the dance, you will earn the new emote /Dance_Human. To enter this game, speak with the dance leader, Ada Musgrove, at loc: 24.7s, 51.6w. The best way to complete this game is by making a shortcut hotkey for the three dances emotes. (Note: One example of this is by typing /shortcut 7 /dance1. This will place a hotkey in hotbar slot 7 for emote /dance1. You can repeat this for the other two, but if you do it for the same slot, make sure to move the hotkey to another before doing so.) When the dance begins, follow the instructions, but if you miss a step don't worry. You can select the emotes as many times as you want to land it, so long as you do it before the time runs out. This is true for each races dance contest.
The Elves of Erud Luin have also established festival games in Duillond. Like the others, the Elves have a game of chance involving scrolls that you can draw from a chest. The three scrolls each offer different amounts of tokens for barter. The "Unimpressive Scroll" will earn one token, a "Well-written Scroll" will earn two tokens, and an "Elegant Scroll" will earn three tokens. These scrolls can be given to the games master for the tokens. His name is Malenfas, and he is located at loc: 24.6s, 93.1w right next to the scroll chest.
When you have enough tokens, you can browse the barter merchant goods at any of the four areas. The merchant for Duillond is Torelleth, she can be found not far from the scroll chest game at loc: 24.6s, 93.1.
If you don't have two left feet, you may want to try the dance game in Duillond. The same rules apply for each of the dance games, but with this one, you can earn the new emote /Dance_Elf. If you can manage the moves, speak with the dance leader, Nedhrien. Like the others, this dance takes place every ten minutes or so.
The Shire festival is located at loc: 30.0s, 71.6w in Hobbiton at the "Party Tree." You can bob for apples here to try and earn festival tokens to exchange for items. Small apples get you one token, medium gets you two, and large will get you three. When you choose to try your luck you will receive one of these three items. However; once you try this, you will receive an effect called "Apple Bobbing." This will prevent you from trying your luck again for one hour. Like the others, this effect will only decrease while you are logged on. The time while you are logged off does not count. You can exchange the apples for festival tokens from Sawlow Puddifoot. He is standing between the two apple tubs.
Player's, who wish to learn the dancing ways of the Hobbit, can speak with the local dance leader, Oger Brockhouse. If you can successfully complete his dance steps, you can earn the new emote /Dance_Hobbit. Oger gives dance lessons every twenty minutes and those who attempt to learn must remain inside the dance area. Oger Brockhouse is just a bit east of the apple tubs under the party tree.
The barter merchant here is named Rosa Hornblower. She is located just a bit north of Sawlow Puddifoot. If you feel the sudden need for some hobbit food and drink, speak with the festival provisioner under the tent just north of Sawlow Puddifoot. Her name is Heartsease Whitfoot, and she carries all kinds of festival food and drink.
The Dwarves of Thorin's Hall have established their own festivities in the lower parts of the city. Players can obtain festival tokens by trying their luck with the Geode chest. Like the other races, this chest has three types of Geodes, and each vary in the amount of festival tokens they can yield. The "Cracked Geode" yields one token, a "Pristine Geode" can be bartered for two tokens, and the "Faultless Geode" can be bartered for three tokens. Like the others, after you try once, there is a one hour cool down timer before you can try again. The tokens earned can be bartered in Thorin's hall to the "Fall Festival Trader" named Kylea. He is near the bar not far from the Geode chest.
Those of you wishing to earn a new emote called /Dance_Dwarf, can try your luck by dancing with the local dance leader, Galmi, at the bar beneath Thorin's hall. Like the other dance games, you will have to wait for the next one to start.
There are many items you can earn during the festivals. Most are items for decorating your home, but you can also earn a scroll to play a cowbell. Included below, is a list of each item, and the festival token cost for each.
