Resident Evil 2 is a classic action based puzzle solving horror gameplay that offers tense exploration every single moment. The game has been developed and published by Capcom.
The most outstanding feature of this game is that it makes scariest zombies—the violent, shambling, groaning and stalking undead looks much nerve-wracking with dynamic facial expressions. These hungry corpses are a great delight to kill an absolute joy to kill—if you have sufficient ammunition to survive. This game is not available in any poker site.
The police station in this version has been beautifully recreated on a grand scale. You will experience a familiar environment, but with some modern updates and being covered with loads of blood it gives a horrifying appearance. The lighting gives a claustrophobic feel as you are able to see only a few feet before you, and the terrific moaning and lurching zombies appear to be so real with every bit of detail.
Though the game is a remake of original Resident Evil 2 which was released in 1998, it has improved a lot by adding more advanced graphics and keeping certain parts from the original version to give it a familiar touch while introducing some new mechanics to keep things fresh. The game developers have kept both established characters in this remake version and they are Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield. You will see a few fan favorite bosses, as well as events and new locations, have been recreated in the game that gives it some interesting twists.
The grand, impressive Raccoon City Police Department was already a great setting in original Resident Evil 2, but the upgrade to 3D setting makes it truly outstanding. Moreover, the remake doesn’t use a fixed camera angle. Its light usage, besides shadowy ambiance, and layout creates a terrifying setting. You will be compelled to pick through the darkness with a flashlight. The building itself is a maze of blind corners, gloomy recesses, and warren-like passageways, creating a constant feeling of suspense and tension.
The station is basically a colossal box of mysteries. So you have to outline a mental map while you play. In the beginning, most of the building is seen to be tightly locked up. Some obstacles like the burning wreck of a helicopter will create an obstruction in your way forward. But as you go on exploring you uncover several items that will help you to survive and fight against those dreadful enemies. Slowly you will start to feel the hallways, offices, entrance areas and stairwells very familiar.
As there are very limited resources, preserving your items and ammo is the main strategy to survive. If you want to get out of Raccoon City alive, just stay more vigilant and tactical in fighting against zombies rather than firing with guns mindlessly. To survive the battle, pay more attention to inventory management. The game has retained some old attributes of the original version, that gives Leon and Claire a very limited number of inventory items to use.
To expand your inventory in Resident Evil 2 you will have to collect hip pouches. You will discover them scattered in the distant corners of the game setting. Each one of these items increases your inventory slots by two at a time, so they’re actually similar to the value in gold.
The enemies you encounter in Resident Evil 2 may look familiar, but they are much tougher and versatile now. Just almost every enemy acts totally different from the original version, and they all have their own sets of traits. Zombies are hard to kill and will almost always keep coming back unless you smash their heads completely, which is very difficult to do, so try to confuse them and keep running to survive. Zombie dogs can chase faster than you can run, but if you move in a serpentine pattern this surely work. Lickers are blind but they are almost indestructible at the same time. So just stay quiet to keep them at bay.
Another important thing that can truly protect you from the hungry hordes is a combat knife. This item also has a very limited supply in Resident Evil 2. So whenever a zombie catches you just use a knife to stop them. Make sure you never move without a combat knife. Once you stab a zombie with this knife and it is confirmed dead you can easily retrieve it.
Moreover, you will love to play as Both Leon and Claire. Both these characters actually have different campaigns, and once you have finished the police station section as one character, both of them go to explore different parts of Raccoon City. You can complete the game as one character and after that return for a totally new playthrough as the counterpart. Also, keep in mind that once you complete Resident Evil 2 as Claire it will unlock a second, shorter campaign for Leon and vice versa.
Just like all Resident Evil games this remake also provides ton of outfits for the game characters. You need to earn and obtain them for Claire and Leon all through Resident Evil 2, some of them out-and-out insane. Just keep on exploring them.
The biggest surprise you will see a new character named the Tyrant. When he appears in the game all the other rules are kept aside. This gigantic, bluish man will be following you just about everywhere, rather than only showing up in triggered events, when he will be constantly chasing you in a fedora and trench coat, making you constantly feel under threat. Whenever you hear loud footsteps coming near you accompanied with music you must know it’s him. Just start running right away dropping everything whatever you are doing as this guy will easily push over any zombie or monster to grab you.
As a whole Resident Evil 2 is a masterpiece in the survival horror gameplay genre. The developer has set an incredibly high standard for a remake video game. The unparalleled realistic animation, terrifying monsters, outstanding background sound, and intense challenging situations create a remarkable, nerve-wrenching experience for die-hard horror game lovers. This game is much more interesting than any other game available on any poker site.
