Story has been at the front of every discussion for The Secret World (TSW) over the last few of weeks. Earlier this month, Funcom unveiled a new trailer for TSW followed by a developer blogs from TSW's Creative Director/Senior Producer Ragnar Tørnquist and Lead Writer Dag Scheve, who delved more into the topic. Massively managed to catch up to Dag Scheve following this week's blog to explore the topics of story and design further. Scheve elaborated on what Funcom hopes to accomplish with its NPCs and story for TSW and discussed the challenge of keeping the game fresh and interesting for players.

There are constraints in all media, and you just have to work with the tools you have and craft something that fits into that formula. Those tools will be different in single-player games because the experience is a completely different one and the game is supposed to serve a very different purpose. Like how story and characters are done very differently in a movie compared to a multi-season TV show.
