The World of Warcraft Auction House - Profiteering in Azeroth

Profiteering can be considered a negative term, but I am talking about it here in a positive way. After all WoW is a free market where players can buy and sell what they like at any price they set. Many times items are bought and sold simply to make a profit on the auction house, or farmed just for their sale.  There is nothing wrong with that, but how do you find out what something is worth and what to sell it for?  That’s what this article is all about, how to determine the price of common items in World of Warcraft.

Item Prices Around Patches – Prices typically go up on gems, enchants, enchant materials, glyphs, and crafting materials around any patch that introduces new items.  Prices start going up slightly when patches are announced as players start stocking up for their anticipated needs.  Prices then sky rocket for several days to several weeks after a patch depending on how many items become available in the patch.  Many times prices on specific items such as gems can triple or quadruple over night.
