Massively interviews Adam Mersky on Turbine going global but skipping E3.
The themes being echoed across many interviews and press releases include terms such as accessibility and global reach. Apparently single markets are no longer big enough. Not to be left out, Turbine, still letting the ink dry on a $40 million infusion, is setting its sights on larger markets and new technology. In an interview with Massively, Turbine's Adam Mersky discusses their plans for new global reach and developing new technologies.
Of equal or greater note were the comments on Turbine taking a pass on attending E3. If there are expansions coming out for two of Turbines top shelf games and hopefully a soon-to-be-announced game, one would expect more presence at the event, not less. [Of course at some point, the organizers will have to rename it E2, or dietE, because whatever show takes place wont hold a candle to the pinnacle that was the real E3.] In true diplomatic fashion, Adam downplays Turbines absence at E3:
this year, based on the timing of the stuff we're doing, and what we need to talk about, and how we go about talking to our audience, E3 just wasn't a fit for us."
Where are they going instead? GenCon, PAX, and Leipzig are the venues on tap for the Turbine road show. Ten Ton Hammer will be there too.
