Is oneupmanship the only theme that plays in today's MMOs?
Competition, is it what drives today's MMO players to keep playing? How much competition is healthy, and what forms of competition are beneficial, as MMO devs try to keep their playerbase coming back for more?
The fact that competition keeps the average player coming back to a virtual world, again and again, seems obvious, but its not always about the race to attain the highest level or conquer the most difficult zone.
