So you can really be a female night elf

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel highlights a software which allows players to truly become their character--a voice changing software that was created with gamers in mind.

One of the benefits of text chatting - or drawbacks, depending on your point of view - was that people could hide their identities or take on other personas if they wished.

That's harder to do when the people speaking actually know what each other sounds like.

But with more voice chatting over the Internet, there are new ways to reclaim some anonymity - including software that masks voices, making an 11-year-old girl sound like a baritone or a 55-year-old man sound like a fairy princess.
