WAR Speaks Russian Too!

<strong>Showdown it is.</strong>

Showdown it is.

While both sides say they're not trying to directly compete with each other, the releases of Warhammer Online and WoW: Wrath of the Lich King is turning out to look like a nasty fight. Just after Blizzard announced that WoW will be localized to Russian this past Monday, WAR is now suddenly planning the same thing for their release.

EA Mythic, a division of Electronic Arts Inc., today announced that Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (WAR) will be released in Russia for the PC and will be fully localized. Along with MMORPG fans all over the world Russian gamers will have a chance to enjoy the rich world and extensive possibilities of one of the most anticipated MMORPG's of the year - Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning.

Wether it was intentional or not, this holds some pretty interesting implications. Regardless of the situation behind it, it's a victory for Blizzard because now EA Mythic again has the appearance of trying to catch up to WoW. It probably won't affect WAR's success as much as people seem to think it will, but the games perception leading up to launch is important. Will it be catching up to WoW, or will it be forging new paths and blazing new trails? Which would you rather play?
