Since the beginning of time, people have always measured themselves in the locker room by certain stats. Is gear scoring the latest craze to go overboard? It's a number calculated on pixels in a game, does it define you? This week we look at why gear scoring has taken center stage in World of Warcraft and wonder if it really means anything except an admittance ticket:

Gear scores are nothing more than the latest in attunements albeit player created. You must have gear score of “X” to get into this raid, hence this dungeon. It’s pretty smart on Blizzard’s part because now they don’t have to police attunements and other hurdles to keep under geared people from attempting instances.
