Welcome to the second edition of Semi-Hardcore, a World of Warcraft column found only at Ten Ton Hammer. Join us this week as resident tanking expert, Messiah, takes a look at something near and dear to his tanking heart. A new ability called Vengeance is set to hit the game with Cataclysm, and is Blizzard’s new way to solve tank threat in the end game. We’ll take a closer look at what we know about this ability, the math behind it, and what it should mean to you as a tank.

Now we’ll take a closer look at how Vengeance is expected to work in game.  For these examples let’s look at my own character as a base.  He is a decently geared ICC 10 Paladin tank with roughly 44,000 unbuffed health which equates to right 60,000 raid buffed health. For sake of simplicity let’s count it at 45,000 unbuffed health. That would mean that at the full 10% stack it would be 4,500 extra attack power.

Check it all out in Tanking with a Vengeance – Semi-Hardcore #2.
